What is Nordic Music Creators?
Nordic Music Creators (NMC) is an Interreg Aurora-funded project designed to foster collaboration within the Aurora region. NMC is a dynamic network that unites Yrkeshögskolan Novia, Musikmakarna - Songwriters Academy of Sweden, Yrkesakademin Österbotten, Lappfjärds Folkhögskola, and Kulturakademin Storuman to drive innovation, creativity, and professional growth in the music industry.
With extensive connections across the regional, national, and global music industry, we offer a platform for professional development, innovation, and collaboration. Our mission is to empower songwriters, musicians, producers, and entrepreneurs by providing opportunities for growth and visibility on the international market.
Through songwriting camps, seminars, webinars, and networking events, NMC fosters creativity, knowledge-sharing, and industry connections. Additionally, we focus on key areas such as entrepreneurship in the creative industries, equality, health, and well-being in the music business.
By combining skills, expertise, and contacts, we aim to create a stronger, more connected music industry in the Aurora region and beyond. In the long term, NMC contributes to business development and music export growth.
Funding for the project is provided by Interreg Aurora with support from the Regional Council of Lapland, Region Västerbotten, Örnsköldsvik Municipality, Svenska Kulturfonden, Novia University of Applied Sciences, Svenska Österbottens Förbund för Utbildning och Kultur, KulturAkademin Storuman, Studentföreningen Musikmakarna and Kristinestad city.
Who can join Nordic Music Creators?
Our online events are open to everyone and completely free. Additionally, industry partners can participate in our creative camps, innovation labs, and events.
For songwriting camps and innovation labs, participants will need a strong background in songwriting and music production. These camps typically have an application process, where selection is based on portfolio and artistic level. All songwriting and production within NMC maintains a high artistic and professional standard.
We also organize activities suitable for partners working with younger participants, ensuring inclusivity and opportunities for emerging talent.
